Animal Medical Insight & Imaging (AMII) provides mobile abdominal ultrasounds and medical consults for small animal veterinarians throughout New England, combining specialty input with owner convenience. The goal is accessible and affordable internal medicine services when they are needed most.

About

Dr. Amy Lomas graduated from Kansas State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2005. Following graduation she completed a rotating small animal internship in Southern California and then practiced emergency medicine for four years. In 2010 she returned to Kansas State for a small animal internal medicine residency and Master’s degree program. Dr. Lomas finished her residency and passed the ACVIM certification exam for internal medicine in 2013. She currently works as an internist in New England, exclusively doing mobile ultrasounds and consults.

Referral Form

  • Please contact AMII for availability before scheduling a case with the owner.
  • Discuss the possibility of ultrasound-guided fine needle aspirates with the owner prior to the ultrasound if aspirates are anticipated and desired. A PCV/TS and platelet count should be performed at a minimum before aspirates will be performed. Biopsies are not offered by AMII.
  • Fasting on the day of ultrasound is preferred unless patients are diabetic or very pediatric. Water should not be restricted unless directed otherwise.
  • By noon the day before consultation: confirm appointments with owners and forward lab results/ radiographs/ relevant records to Dr. Lomas.
  • At the time of patient drop-off, get approval for shaving and sedation, if necessary. 
  • Veterinary clinics will be invoiced directly for services rendered.
